    Just to be sure.

Nobody thinks it’s a good idea to improve education, medical care, urban problems, rural poverty, transportation, Medicare, Medicaid and labor unions? Right?

    I’m asking for somebody else.

It’s just… so surreal. I have a very hard time getting inside the head of someone who endorses MTG’s speech (as she meant it).

Even if this is the reason for thinking so, it’s just so damn short sighted. This shit is affecting everyone, even if you’re not in school, have no kids, are healthy, live rurally and have a good employer. Everyone benefits from a more educated, wealthy and healthy society. Man, shit like this makes me sad and I’m not even American.

I am not American too, but I read and am active here as I fear a lot of USA politics is affecting my country too (Italy)

It’s that unfathomable that people could possibly hold this specific belief. It’s also very unfortunate that some people chose to employ this shitty of an argument as you do, but that’s easy to believe.

I thought painting FDR as a terrible President was outside the American Overton Window. I have no idea what their values are, or where they fit.

If you’re not being rhetorical, I’ll give you a serious answer. Their heads are filled with fear and hate. Due to lack of education from their parents and society. Designed by the rich ruling class in the service of capitalism to preserve the hierarchy and their wealth.
