Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) on Tuesday feigned a shocked reaction when asked about Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) announcement that he would direct House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
“Oh my god, really?” Fetterman said, raising his hands to the side of his head, when asked by an NBC journalist about the McCarthy news.
“Oh my gosh, you know, oh, it’s devastating,” Fetterman continued, before laughing audibly.
“Ooo, don’t do it. Please don’t do it! Oh, no! Oh, no,” he added, before walking off.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
on Tuesday feigned a shocked reaction when asked about Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) announcement that he would direct House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
“Oh my god, really?” Fetterman said, raising his hands to the side of his head, when asked by an NBC journalist about the McCarthy news.
Fetterman continued to dismiss any concerns about the threat of an impeachment inquiry, reposting the video on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, adding a skull emoji and writing, “oooOoooooOooo.”
Last week, as House Republicans increased the pressure on McCarthy to open the inquiry, Fetterman said, “Go ahead.
Fetterman’s comments Tuesday came hours after McCarthy formally announced he would direct House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.)
And regardless of your party, or who you voted for, these facts should concern all Americans,” McCarthy said Tuesday.
