As Reddit’s enshittification reaches new heights their attempts to suppress attention for alternatives, like federated Lemmy, has the opposite effect as this Hacker News discussion shows.

    And with Lemmy, it’s a lot easier to filter out the political spam by simply choosing what instances you federate with. Regardless of left or right leaning, on places like Reddit you have to individually ban troll accounts one by one from your sub, which sucks bigly, and brigading/politik trolling is an ever-present problem in ALL subs. But say if I want to spin up my own instance for cars here, I’m sure as shit going to add lemmygrad to the block list because it’s politics are simply not relevant. And that makes the system so much nicer.
