Around here, they’re trying to pass a city-wide payroll tax where roughly 50% will go to police, 30% to fire fighters, and 20% toward homeless services. They’ve said if the tax doesn’t pass the first thing they’re going to do is close the newly opened homeless shelter in a city with thousands of people living on the street.

It’s astounding to me. It’s like people don’t realize the stranglehold the police have on democratic cities and states. They are almost always conservative and are antagonistic to the elected officials with an attitude of “If you don’t let us do what we want, we won’t protect you when you need it,” and it seems like, for the most part, that’s enough to scare democrat elected officials into stepping in line with whatever the police force wants.

I mean, on January 6th, cops pretty much just let a bunch of violent thugs with guns walk up on Washington State Governor Jay Inslee. And yet that dumb piece of shit hasn’t fucking gone balls-to-the-wall on reigning in the cops in his fucking state. The cops here would let right wing thugs kill him, and he still supports them. Democrats are god damned pussies.
