    At least if its possible to use a foss client you can interact with WhatsApp users without needing their shitty spyware app.

      Actually that article says third-party chats, not third-party clients. I don’t think they are gonna open their proprietary api for everyone. 🤐

        Isn’t that effectively the same thing for people wanting to not use WhatsApp, you’d still be using a different client to speak to people on whatsapp?

      Exactly, making everyone to switch over to something else is impossible…l’ll uninstall it as soon as they roll this out

      Apparently, they’ll need to approve all chat appa before communicating with them. The big players probably won’t want to become just a WhatsApp client, and independent projects probably won’t be able to afford whatever exorbitant fee they’ll probably set to sign up for the list.
