    I think this is from the episode “The Curse of the Flying Hellfish”, where Abe and Mr. Burns are the sole surviving members of a WW2 army squad who know the location of some stolen paintings liberated from the Nazis.

    In this scene I think Abe was told his family was visiting him, and then he stopped at the very frame remembering that his family never visits him and becomes suspicious.

    At that point Mr. Burns and his hitman attempt to assassinate him in poorly constructed disguises of the Simpsons family.

      From the look of things, Grandpa Simpson is in a doorway bracing against an earthquake…

      Maybe this is from Part I of “Who Shot Mr. Burns?”, where Mr. Burns is drilling for oil under Springfield, causing the earthquake.

        yep burns slant oil drilling caused cracks under the retirement home. This is why Grandpa was a suspect in Who Shot Mr Burns. Same episode as our community banner!
