Gay adult film actor-turned-Proud Boy from Pasco gets jail time for Capitol riot by: Rachel Tucker Posted: Feb 9, 2024 / 06:36 PM EST Updated: Feb 9, 2024 / 06:36 PM EST Video above: Supreme Court takes up Trump election interference case

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Pasco County man described as a gay “adult film actor” and member of the Proud Boys, a far-right militant group, was sentenced to prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The FBI arrested Steven Miles, 40, of Zephyrhills in April 2022 after he was caught on camera assaulting Capitol police officers with his fellow Proud Boys in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Miles was charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, civil disorder, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds with a dangerous weapon, and related offenses. In a D.C. courtroom on Friday, he was sentenced to two years in prison, a year of supervised release, and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution.

He was tried alongside a codefendant, Matthew Lebrun of New Orleans, after the FBI received a tip from a woman who posed for a photo with the two men. She recalled the men saying, among other things, that they entered the Capitol building by breaking a window.

She told agents one of the men said he was from New Orleans and the other said he was from Portland. Miles has Oregon ties, according to phone records. He was pictured at the Capitol wearing a jacket with his last name on it and a t-shirt that read “Trump 2020 F— Your Feelings.”

Miles marched to the Capitol with a group of Proud Boys “long before” speakers addressed the crowd at a pro-Trump rally. They chanted “USA!,” “Where’s Antifa”, and “Whose Capitol? Our Capitol!,” according to court documents.

Video showed the men in a confrontation with police, during which Miles shoved and threw punches at officers.

The group then walked up the staircase to the Capitol building and began pounding on windows to break in. Miles was caught on camera smashing a window with a wooden plank and climbing inside.

Miles and Lebrun “briefly” walked through the Capitol before encountering more police and exiting through the Senate Carriage Door.

Phone records from AT&T and location data from Google confirmed Miles was at the Capitol that day. Google also provided his email address, which included the phrase, “Sgt. Miles,” his adult entertainment alias.
