How can you call yourself a magi if your response to not having your staff on hand isn’t to just start blasting spells from your bare hands?
The staff is the better weapon, the increase stamina generation while blocking means you can tire your opponent and force them to drop their sword, allowing you to defeat them more consistently.

Not by much. She has permanent damage to her wrist and will be incapable of many normal things for the rest of her life.
She experiences “ongoing daily” pain, “as it was not possible to fully repair” the nerves and tendons in her hand and wrist, the complaint says.
Daily tasks are now a struggle for her, including cleaning, preparing meals and taking out the garbage.

Like, I’m glad she didn’t lose her hand or a limb, but she will forever struggle in life. That sucks and I can relate, so I hope she can overcome it.
I wouldn’t take that all at face value. Lots of reasons to exaggerate.
The worst thing about this entire thing is that their first and only response to this was to delete the evidence. One of their students was literally passing out from blood loss and the only reason they got any help is because of one the students sneaking off and calling for help.
When did public school become the new, late, birth control method???
Everyone is lucky that those swords were certainly blunt and didn’t have a honed edge.
