Newm is a wayland compositor in the style of paperwm. It’s designed to be more touchpad centric and better for laptop. The original github is unmaintained but there is a fork here

It’s really worth a try. My dotfiles are not public yet, but I would be more than happy to help you with configuration directly in comments here. Feel free to ask or join the newm-atha discord

    I just learned about it the other day and as you mentioned the original is no longer maintained. It looks really nice.

    As someone who hates touchpads but loves his mouse and touchscreen, newwm was disappointing.

    Neat idea, though.

      Yea, I’m happy about it too. I really want to see more wayland TWMs, perhaps even ports of popular x.org TWMs like DWL and Waymonad (waymonad is beta iirc). Another priority is better EGLStreams support for the novideo users.
