I mean, I thought this was pro communist propaganda and I was very surprised Ben Garrison drew it. I still don’t really get how it’s supposed to make them look bad. Is it supposed to mean that Hitler was a way smaller threat than communism?

Thankfully there’s a D on the donkey or I might not have recognized that it was meant to symbolize Democrats. /s

But what’s really interesting is labeling Hitler as “the right” which is usually something that conservatives staunchly deny. It’s usually conservatives who think that communists, socialists, and Nazis are all the same. It’s like he made this cartoon just to try to stir the pot for people who aren’t conservatives, but he doesn’t actually understand how to target that demographic because he’s gotten lazy just pandering to conservatives who lack any sort of critical thinking skills.

“Oregano” is slang popularized back on Reddit, on a community page called r/AntifaStoneToss, focusing on making disruptive edits to comics made by StoneToss, a cartoonist who frequently makes comics with nazi rhetoric.

back when the page was starting out, out of curiosity, people would often make comments asking to explain or show the contents and nature of the original. while i don’t know the exact details, i know that what followed is that people would often replace “Original?” with whatever other wording starting with an O that they could think of.

Poe’s law at work… I’m pretty sure it’s an edit/fake, but can’t possibly be sure.
