I got the dirt on my new client.

Very high maintenance and will argue down to the hour for project work.

Everyone I mentioned it to yesterday gave me this look and laughed lol. And word travelled really quickly around the office.

I’ve had my Mum’s vegetable soup since I moved out of home permanently at age 22. 28 years ago.

    Today I finally made it.

Couldn’t fit in the pumpkin and I know I won’t get any rice in at the end but it’s ok. Added some minced garlic but stuck to the recipe otherwise.

Not exciting but warm and familiar and chunky.

Added bonus: my 9yo son is eating it! He can be ultra cautious with anything new. So watching him scoff it down is pretty heartwarming.

New corporate buzzword I absolutely despise - Journey

    It’s not a fucking journey. It’s a process.

Stop trying to make boring shit appeal interesting. It’s boring, but that’s a how it is. Changing the label doesn’t make it exciting.

I’d put that on the backburner but to shy away from jargon like that is a paradigm shift.

We could loop in and should probably table it. It is low hanging fruit but still requires a deep dive.

It might be worth circling back at a later date, to see what stakeholder uptake is like. Don’t forget it’s important to view these things through an organisational lens to ensure maximum buy-in.

Wellbeing and mindfulness riles me up when it gets mentioned at work because it generally isn’t thought of and cared for and often at odds with people’s actions no matter how much they scream they’re looking out for people.

I am grateful I can practise heartfulness.
It’s really important for me to engage with others at an emotional level. Too much mind interferes with the flow of feelings, so I try not to think while I’m at work.

You ever feel like you made a wrong turn somewhere, but now you’ve started on a career pathway, have a stupid fuck off hecs debt, can’t afford therapy, and feel like it’s too late to go back? That you’re struggling with your job, don’t have any real reference point as to whether it’s normal, and just kinda wish you had another option?

Today was not a good day.

I looked at having a small 100g roll of tape from a Japanese video game company I really liked forwarded from Japan once. Fucking 40 bucks for shipping. The tape itself is only the equivalent of 6 bucks. I asked why, and apparently it’s because FedEx have a large minimum shipment size and weight or something. They refused to use Japan Post, which would’ve been like a 40th of the price.

Also paid 15 bucks in postage to get more melatonin from the states. Not that bad, relative, but the entire package, including box, is less than 100g.

I have a sample of Lancome moisturiser that’s too rich for my skin, so I used it as hand cream since I’d run out out, and my hands feel lovely.

I looked this stuff up out of idle interest, with no intention of ever purchasing it:

    It’s $575. For a 60ml tub of moisturiser.

I’m horrified. Are there really people out there who pay that much just for moisturiser? When so many can barely afford food? I’m spiralling a bit. But wow.

What would your made up Olympic sport be?

Mine would be: Carrying 2 six packs of beer and a phone through 4 rooms, opening and closing 2 doors along the way, turning on and off 3 light switches and placing them safely in the fridge in 15 seconds flat without incident. I’ve had years of training.

      Folding and organising laundry.

Starting with basics then moving on to more complex items such as suits and gowns and dresses, even onesies and oodies.

To be judged by multiple judges by speed and accuracy/precision and have a scoring system aggregated like ice skating.

That could also be something on itself.

Bed making could be a division or the final event for the gold.

What about cunts who stick in the right lane going under the speed limit? Would you be interested in competing in that event?

Plastic container bottoms and lid matching. Each competitor gets a tub of containers, and has to match them up the fastest and there would be some decoys in there that have no match. Winner measured by speed and accuracy.
