Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran. The statement gave no details on how Haniyeh was killed.

An Israeli military spokesman declined to comment. Israel often doesn’t comment on assassinations carried out by its Mossad intelligence agency or strikes on other countries.
I think Iran is saying there was an airstrike, but (unless I missed it) there hasn’t been confirmation by Western countries that an airstrike took place.
