It’s a good list! But can these be linked in a way that anyone in any instance can click it navigate through? Rather than having to manually change the links each time or go back to the instance search tools and do that one at a time?

could someone explain me how to subscribe to magasine that are not on kbin. I’m on kbin.social and when I clic on a link that is on Lemmy I can’t subscribe, I need to log into Lemmy.

Click the search icon (magnifying glass) on the top bar
Type name of the community in the form @community@lemmy.server.

Yes, native Lemmy format of this community adress would actually be !community@lemmy.server, but this does not work on /kbin yet.

This is so annoying and doesn’t provide a good user experience. Normal users just want easy access and one community platform. At least reddit does that well. Normal people won’t sign up this if it’s so weird to be across multiple sites and using those “codes”. Why don’t they just make it easy…

I can’t say for sure about kbin because I’m a Lemmy user, but you can try copying the link (https://sh.itjust.works/c/funny) and pasting it into the search of your instance (kbin.social).

At least that’s the way it’s done on Lemmy.

Hey thanks for this! I’m new to this Fediverse stuff and it’s a lot to absorb, so this post is super helpful. I just subscribed to a bunch of communities. Trying to recreate my old (now deleted) Reddit home feed, if you will. xD

I tried and failed to post there. I assumed it was suffering the same growing pains as everywhere else, but after a few days of waiting I just created kbin.social/m/scuba

I imagine you cannot create communities on a different instance than yours, right? Wouldn’t make much sense

That’s right. You have to be aware of this, when registering on Beehaw or Lemmy.one. If you want to create a community on Lemmy, make sure, that your instance has Create community option on top bar.
