Accepting that premise for the sake of the argument, since the history of the region’s disruption of the Jewish population predates Islam, so does that genocide justify another genocide some hundreds of years later?
It doesn’t. By the way, Israel is not committing a genocide
Okay, so far you’re in agreement, then, that contrary to your initial claim, ethnic cleansing is NOT an acceptable response, you just disagree as to whether ethnic cleansing is ongoing. Is that correct?
Hamas is the one ethnically cleansing. The IDF isn’t. Remember, Hamas has been very explicit about wanting to kill every single Jew. It’s even in their charter. The IDF meanwhile does not want more Jews to die.
You are arguing with someone that believes in the 40 decapitated babies lie because the IDF said so. Just a heads-up that you are wasting your time like I did.
Okay, why would the IDF decapitate 40 babies? Id might believe it if it was some sort of accident, but the only group shown to deliberately kill children is Hamas.
Nobody decapitated 40 babies because that was the onboarding lie for the Western world told by the IDF.
No, the babies were decapitated. The question was whether or not they were dead beforehand.
And it wasn’t “onboarding”, lie or otherwise. October 7th was the onboarding, when Hamas broke a ceasefire and massacred over a thousand civilians.
There is one going on. It’s not the IDF commiting it
I think there are some good arguments about what counts as an ethnic cleansing when the population is entirely homogenous.
Is what Russia doing to the Ukraine an ethnic cleansing, considering their lack of diversity? What about the lack of diversity in Gaza? Turns into a semantic argument, really.
Not sure I understand. Wouldn’t a clear ethnic majority in an area being removed to make way for a minority only make ethnic cleansing more apparent than the reverse?
Yes, absolutely.
What I’m saying is that the laws of what is considered genocide become blurry depending on how diverse that area is.

Holy fucking shit dude, if you aren’t aware that the Jewish diaspora significantly pre-dates Islam and that there was no longer a Jewish majority in the region by the 7th century AD, I can’t fucking help you.
