Officers allegedly raided the diagnostic center, located in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles, thinking it was a front for an illegal cannabis cultivation facility, pointing to higher-than-usual energy use
Man, it’s almost like they were running some kind of large piece of medical equipment in there that uses a lot of electricity.
You’d think they would just like…send a guy down there in plainclothes to look around or something before conducting a massive raid.
Or just like… have a squad car drive past it?
“Hey uh Chief, I checked out that location that got pinged cuz of their energy bill.”
“WE HAVE THE SWAT TEAM READY!!!”
“No, Chief, it’s a radiology clinic, they got like, X-Rays and shit.”
“WE’RE GONNNA ROLL OUT!”
“Chief, I’m pretty sure there isn’t a gro…”
“LOCK AND LOAD!!!”
But then we couldn’t use our cool SWAT gear!! It makes me feel like a big boy!!
Why is the eletric company sending reports to the pigs or why are the pigs allowed to sift throgh your electric bill?
I think your municipal electricity bill is a matter of public record.
High electricity bills are a potential sign someone is running a growhouse (that and they can to thermal readings of the house). Idk how exactly it works but if a building has usually high energy usage for it’s zoned purpose it can potentially lead to police investigation.
More modern grow lights are LED, so the thermal signature thing is kinda null and void.
Don’t they use less power, too? I’m wondering if some leds and a solar panel could totally erase the heat and energy signatures of a small indoor grow
I would have to do some math over it, new top of the line solar modules can have an output of like 600ish watts. The real PITA would be battery storage and maintaining power during extended periods of low insolation. Regardless, a home grow for personal consumption is already pretty much undetectable even without the solar panels. A good LED grow light will be like in the low hundreds of watts, so it’s like having a few extra incandescent bulbs turned on. Negligible power draw.
The other thing is that the 500 watt LED light will eventually end up as heat, so if you’re growing indoors it’ll just look like heating usage.

“Why no, I had no idea that the fenced-in vacant lot next door had become a Pandora of kush plants. I wonder what clever and handsome individual put them there.”
“See that guy in the MRI machine, drug dealer.”
“That elderly lady crying while looking at her scans, drug kingpin.”
“The doctor over there, hit man.”
“That dog over there, head of the growing operation.”
An officer then allegedly pulled a sealed emergency release button that shut the MRI machine down, deactivating it, evaporating thousands of liters of helium gas and damaging the machine in the process. The officer then grabbed his rifle and left the room, leaving behind a magazine filled with bullets on the office floor, according to the lawsuit.
Lmao cop left the room so fast with his piggy tail between his legs in shame that he didn’t even notice.
Some real Walter Peck shit there. Careful he might be Mayor material!
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Helium a very non-renewable element without some manner of atomic science we haven’t developed to scale yet?
Weed is legal in California so this was the hogs sending SWAT after, what, a possible grow operation with improper paperwork?
“We’re committed to supporting the legal cannabis market in California,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement.
It’s about protecting the mega cannabis companies who can’t seem to turn a profit on weed.

That stuff sells itself, how…?

Had no idea they even contained that much, although I’m guessing it’s compressed. Also, what dipshit, too embarrassed and stubborn to ask someone there to get it off properly.
Fun fact - basically the only source of helium is radionuclear decay in i want to say granite, and it’s a completely non-renewable resource on human time scales.
And we pump it into balloons lol
We have heaps of recoverable helium, enough for hundreds of years.
The real issue will be economically recovering helium when huge gas fields are no longer a thing.
Here’s a diagram (left side)
Holy fuck what a jackass

I don’t know what weapons lapd raid iii will be fought with, but lapd raid iv will be fought with non-ferromagnetic sticks and stones.
Three Stooges ass country.
From what I understand, due to the war in Ukraine we are actually currently in a medical helium shortage, it’s like 4-5x the cost that it was a few years ago. I think that one release would probably cost the facility something like $50000 to replace
take it out of the pigs departmental medical insurance
Do tanks use helium or was there a helium source in Ukraine?
The helium source is in Russia, it produces like half of the world’s helium I think

fucking pigs
I remember one time when a Latino chud went with his mother for an MRI scan. He took his pistol into the examination room and, when the machine started working, the gun went off and killed him.
very sad that the rifle didn’t go off when it was sucked into the MRI, killing the officer, and triggering an overreaction from the other officers resulting in a shootout leaving most of them dead or permanently injured beyond the capacity to do their jobs anymore
THE MRI HAS A GUN, GET EM BOYS
ohgod imagine the scene:
Pig #1 storms the MRI room and his gun goes off, killing him. The other pigs hear the noise and they storm the same room and it repeats. I want this!
