As of January 2024, China has installed 151 million metric tons per year of operating EAF capacity, exceeding the 143 MMt/y needed to achieve the 15% EAF production target by 2025. British steel, for comparison, has an operating (blast furnace) capacity of 5.9 MMt/year. Yet its going to take until 2032 for them to convert 4% of what China can do in a year? LMAO So yes, they are winning in every imaginable way
