(resolved) Just now, the last two times I was in Freemacs editing a qbasic program the machine humg, and hung so bad that ctrl-alt-del did not budge it and a power cycle was needed. How can I discover what did it?
Update - I thought it might have been Freemacs, but I got the same hang while editing a QBASIC program. I think it may be hardware related. The machine I am running FreeDOS on is a $20.00 flea market purchase.
Update 2: I have re-installed with MSDOS 6.20, and for a while there I thought that solved the problem. But then I was sitting in MicroEmacs v4.0 and the hang happened again. BTW the machine is a Dell Optiplex 760
Update 3: Different computer now - I swapped out the DELL desktop for a Lenovo i7 laptop (probably one of the most cushie places FreeDOS has ever found itself) and I think the hang problem is solved - so probably a hardware problem in the Dell. Great I guess I am out $20.00 and have e-cycle to get rid of now… Call it resolved
