Windows stopped including a codec to play DVDs a couple versions ago. what’s a good way of still playing them on Windows 10 or 11?

i own DVDs but I’m looking for software options that work. VLC doesn’t unless i get that missing codec, etc

edit: everyone is stopping that VLC can do it with no extra requirements. it didn’t work before but I’ll try again

    Try running it through Handbrake?

    Failing that, it could be worth trying it in Linux. It’s not too hard to spin up a VM, and libdvdcss would have the codecs you need.
