As fallout continues from Trump's severe tariff policy on virtually all U.S. trading partners, some GOP senators are warning about the risks for American families.
Except it’s on purpose that they’re only doing so now that it’s too late.
They’ve known for years that, should he be allowed to infest the White House again, the Mango Mussolini would institute tariffs again, but still they supported him wholeheartedly, only to pretend to take a principled stand the day after most of them come into effect.
It’s pure posturing from two career invertebrates who have made a career of the basest demagoguery and political fraud.
You realize thee Congress controls tariffs, right?
De jure, sure, but de facto, Trump controls every Republican since a single tweet equivalent from him can result in them being successfully primaried and becoming victims of threats or even outright violence.
Trump owns them and they will follow his every kakistocratic whim off a cliff.
He knows it. They know it. Anyone who’s paying attention knows it. I suggest you join the latter group.

It’s not too late. Tariffs can be rolled back
If you bribe Trump, sure, but they’ve already done tremendous damage to both the US and the rest of the world. Can’t roll that back.
You want them NOT to convince him?
I’m saying that their empty posturing won’t convince him.
Especially since he knows they’ll cower the moment he lobs a mean tweet equivalent their way.
What will convince him, then? I think Republicans speaking out against tariffs is the only thing that possibly can
Already told you so: bribes. Maybe flattery and groveling from foreign leaders.
You realize thee Congress controls tariffs, right? They have already introduced a bill stripping Trump of these powers. He said he’d veto it.
To overcome a veto (or to pass the bill at all) you need Republican votes unless you’re going to suffer until midterms

That has as much of a chance of passing as a bill defunding the military. Pure posturing again.
