The Villages
and their sky-high STD ratewould beg to differ. (Edit: apparently that’s just an urban legend. Still, old people in The Villages are very social)
People are spread out, require care, etc. It’s not one or the other.
I think that when being old and degrading, it is not necessarily the most fun and practical to be around other people that are degrading as well. At that point, people require more of a carer than an equal friend
Maybe they can eventually connect the devices to their own FaceTime or call system, and folks could choose to interact with each other. I think that would be an awesome addition to it and a bit of a compromise to have both worlds.
Have you ever been to a senior center? Old people tend to hate each other
Call your senior relatives people
Don’t just see them on the holidays
Hell you see an old person out and about try to start a conversation, those conversations can have a real impact on their lives.
Call your senior relatives
Good advice. I don’t regret any of the time I spent with my Grandma. She was hysterically funny and would always stop what she was doing to chat. I could tell she really valued the time. She also taught me a ton of stuff about cooking, canning etc
Regular interaction helps them avoid senility as well.

Landlords cannot tell you what you can do within your rented apartment in EU. Like at all.
That’s wrong. At least in Germany landlords can forbid larger animals. But they can’t do anything about smaller animals like cats or similar sized dogs. Though there’re exceptions to this general rule.
