Oh yeah I am not arguing BE’s position, I don’t particularly care. I’m more asking for my own count if there are reasons to be critical of Cuba as an AES project (moreso than others), and how that would tie into being a Trot position etc.

Many ML branches have criticisms of Cuba from maoists, denguists, etc

Its more about the support of Cuba which for example is something Leftcoms dont do, or a few anarchists

There are a few trot branches (castroists, marcyists) who support cuba even if its an ML state, the argentina trots for example do support cuba

So that why i think he may be a trot because while the first few position may look like a leftcom, the cuba one makes it more likely that he is a trot

Edit: also he is not an anarchist because he makes fun of them, and also not a demsoc because he criticises peronism and chavism a few times

I think a lot of MLs are critical of a lot of aspects of the USSR these days. Especially the Khrushchev era gets a lot of criticism.

I’m not arguing he isn’t a trot BTW, I am a strong believer that all communists who have a twitter account are functionally trots.

I think here it is more a determinant of trot vs Leftcom. Trots are generally supportive if critical, Leftcoms say Cuba’s armchair production maintains the commodity form.
