    it’s a sick world where she is rapidly becoming the face of some “radical” element of society by checks notes demanding children not be murdered

    She’s around my partner’s age (who worked with children for over a decade) and i think represents the decent strain of fellow elder millennials who had either no kids of their own or just 1 or 2, but dedicate themselves to their nurturing (in typically low paying, low appreciation jobs). I’ve personally known (and still know) a bunch of women like her, out there tirelessly working at schools, head start, etc. Friends and family. Most aren’t even leftists, just baseline left libs that i guess are radical for caring about kids. Instead of just popping out a quiverfull and leaving them to raise each other

    I literally learned of her existence only a year ago but immediately recognized the type from my personal life after watching some of her interviews. She reminds me so much of one of my best friends, who is now terrified of losing her job from various cuts.

    So i suppose the point is there are many, many Ms. Rachels still out there in this godforsaken nightmare nation. Not to discount her bravery, but to point out how disgusting it is that saying “children deserve to live” in public is brave

    and I worry she will be made an example of
