It’s just extremely funny, worst day for r*ssian strategic aviation ever. Achieved by: short range fpv drones and trucks

Nah, best day. Cuz their strategic aviation ceasing to exist would be for the best.

Russian news now call this “A teRroRiStIc AcT” though.

Which is actually hilarious because in what world is attacking military targets that are used for military operations against Ukraine stationed on a military site “terrorism”

The mental gymnastics performed for this are actually quite impressive

When there were news about Russian airstrikes that killed Ukrainian civilians in last few weeks, I’ve seen folks on some certain part of Lemmy discuss it as “Well, what did Zelensky expect after Ukrainians terrorizing Moscow oblasts few days earlier”.

And thing is - it was well documented what did Ukraine hit - with videos showing that it certainly wasn’t some apartment complex, but it seems that mental gymnastics sticks to some people and that you can’t really reason with tankies.

At worst they lost close to 30% of their strategic fleet, crippling blow (they can’t manufacture new ones) but not fatal.

Didn’t bother to look up the numbers just for a joke, but apparently the planes hit were the ones prepared for take-off, so it might actually still be close if enough of the remaining planes weren’t airworthy
