If anyone advocates for a revolt, it is only because they want to be the new evil bastards in charge. Sincere opposition to oppression isn’t real. Anarchism is just chaos, not a real non-hierarchical organizing philosophy. Democracy is a farce. And any disruption of the status quo will end badly for everyone involved.
The apathy is a consequence of decades of authoritarian propaganda couched in “American/Russian Exceptionalist” language. And if you scuff the paint on Exceptionalism, what you end up with is White Nationalism, which is what’s really holding back the bulk of revolutionary sentiment. “I’m (the correct kind of) white, so none of this will affect me, personally. Why stick my neck out so some Woke Atheist Black Feminazi Muslim Tankie can seize power?”
