Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine ® vetoed three anti-LGBTQ+ provisions in the state’s latest budget bill yesterday, in a partial victory for civil rights that still leaves several assaults on LGBTQ+ identity signed into law.

It’s important to note that there are veto-proof majorities in both houses of the Legislature, which has until 2026 to overturn the vetoes. This smells like good news, but it’s all sizzle, no steak.
