We’ve been charging our EV on 110 volts for 8 years now. We tend to charge it over the weekends at only 6 amps since it’s not a dedicated line and a longer charging time isn’t a problem for us. We’ve thought about rewiring our garage, but we’d have to replace our circuit breaker panel and even install the new one at another location. It just doesn’t seem worth it since we’re retired and don’t drive a lot.

The point of the video is that you have alternatives if doing what you just said gets prohibitively expensive. Which is my case, my breaker box is diametrically opposed to the garage, but my dryer shares a wall with it. So sharing the dryer outlet is a great alternative. And 24A for my car would be more than enough.
