Am I wrong in thinking extreme weather will get worse for a very long time, thousands of years, even after zero emissions? The co2 is not removed after that, and the warming and cooling cycle will disrupt things for at least 30,000 years even if we reached that goal today ?

Temps should stay quite flat at net zero. Extreme weather will persist, but not get worse in theory.
