Anyone else got one? I bought a Flextail and it works pretty well. The only drawback is the amount of noise it makes. I top up my tire pressure the evening before a ride, because it could wake up all the neighbours if I used it at 6:00 a.m…
Why not just use a pump?
I use a pump sometimes, but the Flextail is a lot faster.
Yes, got a Cyclami from Ali. It’s very well made and I’ve been uaing it for inflation and topping up my tires for three months now.
Are you talking about the portable ones for inflating tires away from home after a flat?
I’ve used one, I had a flat and was reaching for my co2 cartridge when someone handed over their pump instead. It seemed to work fine, and I liked that they could set the target pressure. I would use a floor pump or air compressor at home, though.
I use my Xiaomi inflator on my Honda motorbike. Can be used in motorcycles, bicycles, it has an setting/adapter for basketball/football balls, and in theory it can go for car tires too, although i reckon it would take forever. And it IS noisy, yeah. Bought it about 4 years ago, still trucking like the first, and had saved me having a flat on the road, being able to pump to ride to a safe location to get it sorted.
I bought a fumpa and it had issues immediately. I could only inflate for a few psi before it would fail. Had to plug it back in to power to reset the pump. Told them the same information and they wanted to send me a new one. I have given up on the experiment. I rarely need them on the road. Carry emergency CO2 only. I fill before each ride to maintain accurate psi levels. Tubeless on all my bikes. They seemed perplexed (fumpa) that anything had every failed. I just wanted my money back and they were pretty pushy before they relented. I wouldn’t buy another one of those and Amazon seems littered with trash versions. I went with fumpa as it was made in America. Oh well. Maybe in a few more years they’ll be more reliable. Super loud too. I have a Ryobi battery pump with digital gauge that you set desired psi. It was quieter than the fumpa and use that before every ride.
