Even the non-religious and many atheists are completely bought into this mindset, without ever even realising or questioning that their fundamental belief is christian faith teachings. And if you try and raise this with them they undergo extreme cognitive dissonance. It is taken as common sense that you are the bigger person if you ignore another who is doing bad things. Written out this way of course makes it sound absurd but this is how people behave, they consider it wrong to retaliate against those doing bad things. Even if it’s just with words it’s “rude”.
