I don’t remember well, but Apple is pretty conservative about the simplicity of the features they provide, and I would guess the phone would shut down the music during a call.

It does.
Android does as well, but it has ways to permit listening while on a call.
Why would you want to? My music always pauses when I get a call no guessing on both android and iOS.
