Oh it will be chaotic for him and his buddies when they’re trying to get away with all the money they stole from the hungarian public.

that would usher in “chaos and poverty” by aligning Hungary more closely with the European Union

This is so ridiculous and it is crazy there are people who believe this.

If people were to think critically and objectively - Orban wouldn’t be in power. He’s loser by all metrics (except his personal enrichment) - economy is tanked, country except main metropolitan area is often a horror show (especially eastern parts of Hungary) and many other fun things.

It’s just that world is now ruled by people of extremely low merit, who just create this “strong statesman” image for themselves, and populi falls for it.

Thanks to their historical bonds with Austria and Germany, Hungary coulda/shoulda/woulda’ve had an evolution similar to Poland.

They completely messed up for generations.

The problem is that he can not ouright rig the elections. The EU makes that really hard to do. So he created an election system, which massivly favours him, has pretty solid control over the media and is able to run hand outs just before the election. At the same time splitting the opposition did wonders. The issue is that the economy does not do too well. Inflation rate is at 4.3%, Ukraine basically cut off Russian oil supply, EU funding is blocked(we are talking billions) and Hungary is pretty deeply integrated into the German economy, which currently does not do too well either.

So it is not looking too good for him, which is great news for Europe and the world.

I think Orban’s recommendations are very useful. Every time he says someyhing you can be sure doing the opposite is the right thing.

Not always, Hungary no longer blocking EU action against Russia might very well cause chaos there.
