It’s called rumination and it can be a symptom of mental health problems if it’s ongoing and bothers you. Talking to a therapist can really help break your brain out of the rumination pattern it gets locked in. Not saying it never happens to me anymore, but it’s a lot easier to recognize now and break out of.
They say that you’re the only one who remembers your embarrassing moments, but I still remember how this guy said “League of Legends” instead of “League of Nations” in history class twelve years ago. I wonder how many people remember my embarrassing moments. Maybe they even remember some that I’ve already forgotten about.
