Unfortunately some of the humour got lost in translation. For “been brought down to size” the police used the phrase “zur Schnecke gemacht”, which literally would translate to “made a slug”.

A squat, maybe, or just a private place to spend time without getting rained on. I don’t know about Schwabach, but lots of places don’t have a good “third place” for young pole.

Probably capacitive touch buttons. Some people likely have elegant stainless steel bell panels with flush, modern touch buttons… Though they have to be rare. All I ever see are push buttons and there is no way a slug can do that.
