We are done as a society. When being against genocide is considered “political” there is no going back.

Being opposed to actions of a state(or for them) is inherently political

personally I’d go with something like: ‘When being against genocide is considered controversial/anti-semitic there is no going back.’

it does not have to be political to be against murder at all. just because it has implications in politics does not mean the topic or opinion itself is political.

the fact that a state is comitting the act is obviously political, but that does not magically make the opinion “murder bad” a political stance.

advocating for or defending genocide is an inherently evil thing to do. i think that is natural law.

    “We are against genocide”

‘I can’t believe you hate Israel, you antisemite!’

This feels like a rather large self-report.

Feels like the point is to be overt. It is dominance theatre, an effort to demonstrate to protestors that nothing can stop them.

It would be a shame to let them have their way.

It’s actually quite a bit worse than the headline. They deleted the post saying ‘never again’ applies to all people, and explained that some people might have thought they included Palestinians in “all people” when they said that, and they officially said they didn’t want to give that impression.

Insert the meme of the goose pursuing the Holocaust Museum angrily demanding “who doesn’t it apply to, Holocaust Museum? WHO DOESN’T IT APPLY TO?” Here.

Only really applies to the the Zionist assholes reading this now I suppose it is obvious

Thankfully, the museum itself is more important than the Israeli government, they made the right decision here.

The word genocide has been weaponized to the point where Jews can’t discuss the holocaust without being attacked for it.

But sure, you’re not antisemitic at all!

While Jewish people as a whole shouldn’t be attacked for the actions of a nation state, anyone supporting that nation state’s actions are out of line and a great way to stop criticism of anyone supporting genocide is to STOP COMMITTING AND SUPPORTING GENOCIDE.

It’s the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum, not a Tel Aviv Museum. This is attacking American Jews, it’s not attacking Israel. It’s attacking Jews in the US because people are angry about things Jews on the other side of the world are doing. Blaming an entire ethnicity for the actions of other people of that ethnicity is plain racism.

        STOP SUPPORTING ANTISEMITISM.

Just FYI. There is no reason to stay this stupid. You can educate yourself at very little cost of time and money.

      Give it a shot.

I think I said quite a while ago that the Lemmy troll brigades should really invest some effort into pro-Israel accounts, they could get a ton of mileage out of them. I have mixed feelings about the fact that they seem to have taken up the challenge. I used to never see this stuff.

This thread is about being angry at Jews in Los Angeles because of actions by Jews on the other side of the world. Go outside and touch grass if you think it’s trolling to say this is just straight up racism to blame an entire ethnicity for the actions of the few.

Antisemitism is racism towards Jews with a shitload of rationalizations layered on top of it. So go on and rationalize how being angry at Jews in LA for things happening on the other side of the world isn’t Antisemitism. Go on… explain how this isn’t antisemitism.

Good stuff. I think to take it to the next level, you should throw in something about the rape accusations. Get us arguing with each other. This stuff is sterling, I especially like the part about “go outside and touch grass,” but at the end of the day it’s mostly just going to annoy people temporarily (and ultimately unify them in yelling at you and you alone.)

To really create lasting damage to the community, you have to create hostility that’s going to (a) spiral more than you have energy to invest in nourishing it, get other people involved in creating conflict and (b) persist after you’ve moved on. Talk about the October 7th rapes. Say that you’re glad Trump got in office because you really feel like Biden betrayed Israel with all his lack of support. Spark some free range conflict. That’s the next level.

Like I say it’s a really good start though! Don’t feel like I am saying it is bad or putting it down, I am only trying to help take it to the next level. Think of it as critical support.

It demonstrates more about y’all that attacking a literal holocaust museum doesn’t even give you any pause. It’s very obvious to any bystanders that you aren’t a pro-Palestinian movement (how does any of this help Palestinians?) you’re in an antisemitic hate group.

Do you remember time before the pandemic when you weren’t terminally online, how you would feel about a group harassing a holocaust museum? Would you think of those people were cool and hip, or would you think of them as hateful losers? How do you think anyone not in your internet bubble thinks of you when you engage in a harassment campaign against a holocaust museum?

There’s a reason why your group is treated like a carcinogen by every mainstream political movement. It’s not because the Jews are controlling everything. It’s because you’ve become so siloed off from the rest of the world you’re incapable of considering how your actions look to anyone not in your silo.

You’re doing a harassment campaign on holocaust museum for fuck’s sake. Just look at what you’ve become.

I just looked at your account, it’s two years old and you’ve been saying the same stuff, so maybe you are legit and actually believe this stuff.

To take it at face value: No one’s “harassing” or “attacking” anyone here. Just saying that we think carving out a specific exception to “never again” for the Palestinians is pretty on-the-nose fucked up. Now imagine that we bombed their apartment block, and then bombed the tent in the refugee camp where they went to live after that, and the journalists who went to report on it. That would be attacking.

Two years ago, you said Israel “will make an effort to minimize civilian casualties.” How is denying food aid while the country is starving to death minimizing civilian casualties?

A year ago you said, “there’s no way to rationalize out support for an organization that purposefully murders Jewish children.” Is there a way to rationalize support for an organization that purposefully murders Palestinian children?
