I’d only be interested in remakes of MG1 and 2, maybe ac!d if the stories are actually interesting (and they’re remade like actual Metal Gear Solid games).

Unfortunately, looking at these comments I think I know what konami will do. They’ll remake MGS1 because it will be “hype” and everyone will buy it out of loyalty to their gamer status, but it will essentially hit as hard as the Oblivion “remake.”

Let’s get something new, guys. We don’t have to replay the same damn game over and over and over.

MGS 1/2/4 remake sounds great, but what’s the point when cutscenes and levels are 1:1 with the original and the game has the limitations of 3 gaming generations ago?

i think they’re just scared to do any changes without kojima.

I don’t want anything remade. Make new stuff for fuck’s sake! We got more remakes, remasters and reboots than original games this generation. I still have those games. I can still play them

how? by adding more twists to the already extremely convoluted (not saying that means bad) story? What elso besides graphics?

How about an over-the-shoulder perspective, for one?

There’s no reason why it can’t have an in-depth CQC system as well.

Voice acting, cutscenes, I feel like you’re not even trying to understand when you reduce the possibility of a remake to just story and graphics.

You should also keep in mind that most people haven’t played MG1 and 2 because they’re so dated. This isn’t due to being unable to play, since they’re available for free on emulators. People haven’t played or beaten them because they weren’t made to the standard of the good Metal Gear Solid games.

in that case that’s a completely different game, and an insult to the original to call it the same. They just get to keep the same story and cash in on nostalgia, but it wouldn’t be mgs.

I feel the same about the resident evil remakes. They’re not bad, but they’re not resident evil if you change literally everything in the game except the story.

If you’re making a new, completely different game, I’d like a new story to go with it. Why is that so much to ask?

MGS4 port to PC would be ideal. Leave it as is gameplay wise, just remove the installations and up the frame rate.

Let’s get a remake of the original Metal Gear. Let’s finish off Venom Snake’s story.

Jesus fucking Christ. Can you imagine what would happen if they announced an original Metal Gear remake, made trailers, hyped it up, got Kojima to talk about it after coming back to help a bit even.

But then they pull some Phantom Pain shit, and after launch turns out it’s actually Metal Gear 6 directed by Kojima.

Please. Someone who knows Kojima tell him. I want to believe.

Konami can go fuck themselfs if they think I give a shit after their Silent Hill bullshit.

Your last drop of goodwill is gone, you corporate fucksticks. Remakes of MGS is all you can wish to produce you empty husks leeching off the creation of others.

It was already remade as The Twin Snakes. I never played it, so no opinion on the game itself. Some people seem not to like it at all, but to be honest, that’s expected with Remakes that go a bit beyond. Other than that, I absolutely agree with you; a proper and modern Remake of the first Metal Gear Solid would be awesome. It’s my favorite too.

Twin Snakes was a funny, slightly different take. Action cutscenes were very over the top and probably influenced by The Matrix. The map was exactly the same, but the new mechanics from MGS2 broke it in favor of the player. Voice lines were re-recorded and the performances are kinda bad.

TS isn’t exactly the definitive edition, but it’s still enjoyable. Either way, unlike Snake Eater, MGS1 needs a big redesign if it were remade to modern standards.

I love Peace Walker on the PSP, and since it’s a direct tie to MGS 5 and is fully done I’d say it’s a no-brainer. May even be easier than the MGS 3 to Delta transition.
