I started arguing in the YouTube comments and I’m getting dragged deeper in the morass of jackasses. How do people deal with arguing with these people?
Anyways the silly ww2-day-by-day-play-by-play channel has lately been doing good shorts on Soviet contributions to the war effort, talking about the brave women that fought, the heroic partisans, etc. And in the one vid where they actually go out and start talking about GLADIO shit, the hogs start coming out.
I’m only posting this so you can have a taste of something decent only to have it be spoiled by the squeals of swine.
There’s an extension that turns all youtube comments into herp derp herp derp herp derp, just fyi
When I see legit straight up nazis underneath anti-Zionist videos I don’t argue, it’s better for my mental health if I just hit em with a “KYS” and move on with my day
The YouTube algo doesn’t like it when you do anything even that’s remotely more insulting than calling someone an illiterate barnyard animal
Yeh I’ve gotten warned by YouTube lmao
YouTube comments make even Reddit comments look high quality, I never look at them anymore if it’s anything even tangentially related to AES.
Nah YouTube comments quite frequently side with AES…something that never happens on reddit. Reddit is the lowest of the barrel as far as a commitment to liberal extremist idealism.
Huh, interesting, may need to give it a check again.
Youtube is more international than R*ddit, so Anglo nonsense is not as bad.
Good point, I haven’t been on Reddit in years so YouTube being the worst thing I still interact with is clouding my judgement of it.
Combine it with the esoteric and arbitrary censorship system YouTube uses and its positively a nightmare trying to have any sort of conversation on there that stems beyond basic phrases
Yep, the platform itself is horrible for any kind of discussion, even if you remove the censorship algos.
Thank goodness for the silly bear site.
Absolutely!
it’s not so bad you just have to scroll and load comments a hundred times to see who everyone’s replying to
And youtube shorts comments make normal youtube comments look ok
I can only imagine…
Anticommunist arguments never hold water because they don’t have to. They’re never truly tested because they’re coddled by a hegemonic power structure that strangles any dissent in the crib. They are crosshairs painted on a target to mark them for ostracism or (if need be) violent suppression.
You are brave for even opening the comments on any remotely political video on youtube. Cesspool comment sections 99.999% of the time. Just comment “Who is watching in 2025?” and save yourself the struggle
I can’t help being a catty bitch sometimes
tyfys
I treat youtube commenting the same way I treat tiktok commenting. I fart my comment out into the wind and I never come back.
I don’t even know how I would come back. YouTube comments are so opaque and weird that I’m not convinced I’ve ever read one written by a human or that any comment I’ve ever written has ever been read.
Honestly that channel isn’t bad. It’s a fun project that does a lot of decent research into some really niche stories that most don’t know. I got quibbles here and there but I do give most of their takes a pass. They do the lib thing of equivocating “authoritarian” things but they don’t mince words condemning nazis and Nazi ideology or how history is about not letting shit like that happen again.
But fucking A stay out of those comments.
@Alaskaball@hexbear.net i nominate you for
for your bravery.
I love dropping a diatribe in the comments, then muting notifications and never looking again
I gotta get a few in to wind people up like beyblades for my satisfaction
This channel is actually good? Something made me think they were chuds, the guy with the mustache looking like Gavin Mcinnes maybe
Not replicating “Asiatic hordes” and giving credit to industrialization of the USSR is already better than anything you will hear from 99% of actual western historians
It’s generally alright. It’s from the same historian folks that did a day-by-day play-by-play of ww1 and by indication of most of their content they tend to be about as fair about their biases as you could expect from non-communist historians
