i just got a three-day ban from reddit just because i posted how i feel about elon musk.
i did submit an appeal and expect a response from them, but i think they forgot that there’s this thing called the first amendment to the constitution: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
as such, i’ll be exercising my first amendment rights here on hexbear during my three-day ban.
thank you.

i just stopped going to reddit as soon as I found lemmy… i tried voat for about a week before I realized it was way more unhinged nazi than reddit was and then it died anyway. I found mastodon and somehow that led me to lemmy and I’ve been avoiding reddit at all costs ever since
I miss being able to access 100s or 1000s of people for even the most niche subject-area interest. When you have a really specific question. Lemmy can only reliably help if it’s a computer thing.
I guess I never used reddit for that… though it seems like google and most other search engines try to direct you to reddit quite a bit now
I did the same with voat and holy l fuck, I had never seen so many loud and proud fash accounts.
