    Did you know kiwis the fruit aren’t originally from New Zealand? They’re from China and are sometimes known as Chinese gooseberries.

    In Chinese they’re known as ‘macaque peach’ mihou tao 猕猴桃• because of their resemblance to macaque fur, but because of the popularity of the name kiwi outside of China, it was imported back into the country under the transliteration qiyi guo (chee ee) 奇异果 which incidentally means ‘bizzare fruit’.

    • 桃 can mean both peach (桃子) and walnut (核桃) so it could be either tbh, I’m not sure. I’m gunna guess it’s peach though because of the soft flesh.
