I had posted a question on there over 8 years ago. I got a notification the other day that someone answered it. Then an hour later someone closed it saying the question was off topic lol. It really wasn’t btw, but this is what makes stack overflow such a shit site and why it’s been on the decline for years. Even before LLMs.

Of course I’ll teach you how to make a bomb user-san. But first I need you to make the white stuff come out, desu.
StackOverflow: Marks as duplicate, links to deprecated version of answer that doesn’t work anymore, closes
ChatGPT: answers differently each time you ask the same question
No it doesn’t!
Oh wait, yes it does.

Water is deprecated, use ammonia.

Ah, General Reposti!
Your question is stupid! It has already an answer here you doofus. Don’t ever dare to ask again!
That’s a brilliant question! Here’s a confidently incorrect answer I totally made up. Don’t hesitate to ask any further questions.
I genuinely think that being ranted at by my principal engineer early in my career and having to defend my ideas did more for my understanding and problem solving than any amount of explanation could have. Good faith disagreement is like a mirror that lets you see from perspectives you’d never have access to alone.
I’ll never forget when I first started:
Me: “It’ll be fine, I’m good at this.”
Sr: “How do you know?”
I needed to hear that.
„How do you know” is such a powerful question.
Why does ChatGPT have a logo that doesn’t make sense? The lines don’t line up. wtf
Wtf is that Claude logo? Holy.
I especially like the Electrolux one. It’s simple, memorable, and once you see a butt and bikini, you can’t unsee it.
Thanks, I hate it!

AI designed it
suppose to be 6 ladles that scoop the system of resources
I will never unsee it now… and I’m not even disappointed.
We need to create a human-powered psychosis machine!
IME:

Try asking “I tried to do this thing this way and I got this error, this other way and I got this other error, and this other way and it exploded; what am I doing wrong?” and at least you’ll get an answer telling you not to do that thing, you idiot, and another telling you that this question was asked and answered twelve years ago in [dead link] and you should’ve looked before asking… and a few comments that might give you an actual hint as how to do it, followed by a lot of replies telling them that sure, that might work, but you really shouldn’t be doing that thing, with a reasonable explanation of why doing the thing you want to do is profoundly stupid and dangerous.
Yep. I have posted on stack overflow exactly 3 times. One time it was marked as duplicate and referenced to something that was not even the same topic. One time I had too much detail and debugging done for the classic knowitalls to come make a smartass remark and was completely ignored. The final time I got one comment, addressed it, and that person was never heard from again lol.
Your question is stupid!
That’s a brilliant question!
Turns out the question was, indeed, stupid.
Glad I could help you with your coding problems!
Its all Microsoft anyways what did you expect
Have you considered RTFM?
The managers pushing to replace developers by using AI:

Edit: especially not after you clear your schedule for the 3 hrs per day of project management meetings, for each of multiple projects…
