Cow and horse poops aren’t actually a good choice - sure, you can get them in a large quantity, but they’re mostly fiber, so they dissolve in water very easily and are too easy to wash off.
You want poop with lots of fat in it, so something from an animal that eats meat. I’m biased, but in my opinion snake poop would be a superb choice, if you can get your hands on some. It’s dense, hard to wash off and smells like actual death - so even a small, well placed piece would already be very effective.
Put up some nice decorations in the area
Why not smear cow poop over it? (Use throwaway gloves while doing so, and burn them after).
