I think you got it backwards.
Then it seems you failed to explain yourself clearly.
Or you failed to read properly.
That’s not how this works.
We don’t blame the student if they don’t understand the material.
Reading comprehension is a skill.
So is writing.
Hell there are university degrees in communication.
