I have a pretty good quality pdf but it uses a small font so reading it is uncomfortable. I noticed someone started a transcription of it on ProleWiki, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like it is going to be finished.

True, I haven’t used it before but I remember the last time I looked into this their manual straight up says that the results will probably not be good. I suppose it doesn’t hurt to give it a try though.

Yeah, I do EPUB conversions, and even when the PDF is fully text the output isn’t great.

.epubs have “reflow” or whatever it is called to help with converting but from what I’ve messed with, I think it used html to convert and can cause line breaks where they shouldn’t be. Also if a book as references at the bottom of the pages, that turned into a jumbled mess since it doesn’t know that it’s not part of the actual text.

Also, EPUBs dont have “reflow” which helps with converting. They are reflowable, because they are HTML, in the same way your browser will rearrange things if you resize the window. But that’s an inherent property of the format, not something that helps with conversion. Maybe you meant something else?
