Almost everyone i know is working this week and work itself is treating this as an inconvenience to productivity which is such an odd shift as businesses used to just close or soft close this time of year. I dont even care about Christmas itself but i liked it being a slow period but its not anymore. Anyone else noticing this shift? I suppose this has always been the case for retail workers there’s no such thing as a holiday for them. The only difference is white collar slimeballs see working more as badge of honour like the little asswipes they are

Let’s see, from my own life… well, my Christian chud mom claims she doesn’t want to host or even celebrate Christmas this year because it’s too focused on consumption, and also it’s too pagan for her lmao.
I mean I learned about Christmas’s pagan origins just by watching youtube casually 15 years ago but ok mom. Guess she’s not ready to admit shit sucks yet. So as a result my family isn’t doing Christmas together this year. I got small gifts for my relative’s kids, my lonely grandma and my partner and that’s it. As for my partner and I, we both got really burned out from work this year and just managed to recover around halloween. However, we both still have to work this week and I don’t get any paid time off. To make matters worse, they recently cut most of our OT pay opportunities, so I need to take the 5 extra they’re offering this week. That means I might be working Christmas or Christmas weekend. Thankfully it’s all WFH this week so I doubt anyone clocking in is turning in much work.
TLDR I’m mostly gaming this week.
