The last thing I’d trust to suspend from is a steel pipe in an “abandoned area”. Last thing you need is to figure out the inside is “oops all rust” and only the outer 1/16" is actual bare steel.

I don’t know where you are at, but if you have a suit just contact the rigger from the post. They have tied so many over the years and seem pretty open to tying those who contact.

I used to tie up this lady sometimes who’d get very annoyed by riggers who wanted to make it look nice, as it’s time a-wasting. Always think that’s a funny disconnect between rigger and rope bunny.
I guess that always depends on what the goal is. Suspension bondage like this always feels a bit like art. Sure, you can just do whatever, but if you go through all the effort to suspend someone (especially outside, where you need to carry all your equipment), it’d feel wrong not to make it look nice. But others see it differently and just want to get tied up, or just want to tie someone up, and that’s cool, too. It just needs to be communicated.
