Yeep. These are people who will, in the same breath, say all the old Red Scare junk about the Soviet Union, then say Perestroika and Glasnost were the right idea and it was the hardline Stalinists that brought the USSR down, not the fucking revisionists. Which, as a hardline Stalinist myself, I hate even more than their usual no nuance “commies bad, USSR bad, December '91 good”.

(I’m not actually a Stalinist, those don’t exist. But when people start talking about “hardline” commies… well, yeah, every single case of that was just anti revisionism, and I am an anti revisionist. So yes, I am a “hardline” ML.)

There are no actual “liberals”. Just ideologically bankrupt anti-communists who will side with literally anyone who opposes Marxist-Leninists. These are a group that encompasses Ronald Reagan, and tree-hugging environmental crusaders who oppose “big business” on some level but don’t understand that capitalism in itself is the problem, and people who think Hitler had good points on what communists call the national question, and people who think Khrushchev was right. These are not a group with a consistent shared ideology beyond “fuck the MLs”.

I was not saying I don’t know why these people are like that, just moaning that it’s annoying and frustrating to have to sit there and listen to it and pretend they aren’t being self contradictory.
