Idk some see it as using it in excess due to body image issues in Hollywood but a lot it seems like its always a thinly veiled shot at the body positive movement whenever I see this mentioned. The South park episode I’m sure helped fuel this. Hell of a lot of moralizing over ozempic in general and people not losing weight the “right way”. thats-why-im-confused

PEDs and steroids kinda are miracle drugs tbh. Its just that they can have really bad side effects. But the shit you see with em especially when they’re hyper responders is nuts. I’ve seen people come back from injuries in a short time on em.

I was given a steroid shot once for a shoulder injury I had. Prior to the shot, I had been in chronic pain for months and had been consulting a surgeon for a possible operation to fix the problem. I could barely lift my arm above my head, and even pushing a car door open was painful.

After the doc gave me the shot the relief was almost immediate. It was like I had never been injured at all. I had never considered using PEDs for working out before then, but holy shit did it feel amazing. I remember wondering why the doctor warned me not to come asking for another shot if I ever got injured again (“it can’t be that good, why would he be warning me about this?”), but I completely understood afterwards, it was genuinely like a miracle drug.

Prednisone was like a surprise for me. Never felt anything like it. If it wasn’t for the side effects I would be taking it more often tbh.
