    I think part of it is that those supposed leftists don’t categorize all of those capitalists the same way. It’s like they view billionaire CEOs and landlords as different groups, when the reality is that they fall into the same capitalist bucket. So landlords being stripped of their hoarded properties so that everyone can have a home, is not viewed by them in the same critical light as a CEO that hoards wealth and exploits the working class.

    I don’t have anything solid to back this up. It’s just my general observation. It all boils down to class consciousness and decoupling oneself from propaganda.

      While that’s part of it, you can also see plenty of hate towards landlords in western countries, because people are suffering the consequences of landlordism (when it comes to housing). The main problems IMO are Eurocentrism and American Exceptionalism.
