The issues with porn are the exploitation and lack of ethics in its production, but this can be resolved by ethical written/animated porn.

But yes, masturbation is perfectly healthy.

But animated porn puts both the masturbator AND the artist at risk of wrist injury!

Any specific things? I’ve seen a lot of broscience floats around about porn’s effects, especially around chemicals like dopamine, so it’s worth checking further before believing any of it. That isn’t to say lots of the claims aren’t plausable, but they also might not be reliable.

I’m no expert, but some other concerns I’ve heard are that porn normalizes unrealistic expectations of sex and promotes misinformation (imagine how someone who only learned from porn might handle issues like consent, preparation and aftercare). I could see those continuing to be an issue with written, rendered and generated porn. But IMO those would still be a huge improvement over the abuse of participants associated with the porn film industry.

Yes to everything you said and also I’ve known guys who goon to so much porn it ends up making it difficult for them to get hard or cum from sex because it isn’t as stimulating

the issue is porn rewires your brain and sooner or later after enough consumption you can only derive pleasure from looking at a screen. it doesn’t matter whether it’s “ethically sourced” - while that is a step forward we still face porn addiction at large and don’t educate on this matter. it leads to the spread of misogyny, wrong expectations and erectyle dysfunction among men.

i’m probably just biased but as a single western woman i can tell ya that some men have severe “coomerbrain” and don’t know how to approach women.

masturbation is fine and healthy tho :3 use your imagination :3

I hate to be that person but… source? I’ve tried to find reliable medical sources about “porn addiction” before but have never been successful.

As far as misogyny goes, many organized religions are responsible for plenty of that already, and corporate social media only gave that an environment to further propogate. Ethical sourcing would lead to healthier material as well.

As for erectile dysfunction, that sounds like something men could overcome if they’re motivated to put down the porn for a few days, and might lower the SA rates too.
