    I’ve long advocated for this shorter wording for Claustrophobia effects. “Can’t be untapped” is a lot shorter and easier to parse than “doesn’t untap during its controller’s untap step” with minimal gameplay changes. I’m glad to see this happen.

    Interesting wording. I feel like there will be some strange interactions where counters or untapping are an additional effect on a card. I assume it’s worded this way for Blight but I wonder if it was adjusted for Vivi before the ban too. Probably not but I could see a better version of this being really good.

      It doesn’t remove counters, so not sure how much it’d help against Vivi. I suspect it’s related to blight as well. It prevents the opponent from putting counters on the creature to, for example, play an additional blight cost, meaning they can’t just treat the tapped creature as a resource for blight.

      My guess is this was built as a removal spell for limited.
