Nothing graphic in the link I provided, but cw: possible death, fascist violence. Be careful if you click videos related to this story, there is some graphic bloody scenes in the vehicles in videos circling around.

NSFL (CW: Murder): This is the video where the driver was trying to drive away and they shot and killed her trying to escape, she was acting as a legal observer. https://bsky.app/profile/danielsuitor.com/post/3mbtzlfajm227
ICE is already trying to set the narrative that she was trying to run them over, this is false, this video is proof of that. Don’t let them lie.

motherfuckers think ice is killing people to provoke protests so they can kill more people. rather than the reality, that they’re killing people because they can. “dont give them what they want! they want you to fight back so they can use violence!!” on a video of them shooting a woman in the face. yeah wouldnt want to give them grounds to use violence!
Yeah they always pull out the “don’t fight violence with violence” shit when they’re doing shit like genocide and ethnic cleansing. It works because libs eat it the fuck up.
lol yeah their weird fetishization of being “the perfect victim” has replaced any sort of actual ability to reason. i can’t imagine that, to think that by becoming the perfect victim for my enemies to easily overpower that somehow i win in that situation.
I think there’s some merit to it. You need to fight peacefully to get the support of the population. We’re way past that point though. Riots are the voice of the unheard, and those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable.
Protesters Urged Not To Give Trump Administration Pretext For What It Already Doing
Not to be a grammar nazi but I thought the Onion had editors
Seems like intentionally awkward headline grammar to me (“what it already doing”, right?), unless I’ve missed something.
(Similar to the one below, “Yo-Yo Ma Finally Works Up Courage To Tell Parents He Quitting Cello”, which sounds even worse)
But it’s not truncated sentences it a missing verb
I agree that it’s inelegant, but I still think it’s intentional. Then again, I’m enough of an Onion zealot that I probably can’t be trusted on this.
This specific example bothered me the last time I saw it linked somewhere, but with that additional example you gave I started looking for more and saw on the side “Area Man Knows When He Not Welcome In Children’s Museum”.
They seem to be intentionally skipping the word “is” in their headlines??
It is called headlinese and is not peculiar to The Onion.
